The Biodegradable Collection

The 'Biodegradable Collection' is created from 100% plant-based materials. Products created in this way provide an opportunity for fiber-based recycling or biodegradation at the end of their life cycles.

High-quality materials and impeccable tailoring, excellent fit and cuts developed for all body types are the DNA of the brand. With this collection Lilli Jahilo is taking a step further to explore what it means to create garments without non-renewable materials. Only plant-based fabrics and biodegradable elements have been used in the entire collection.

The designer explains: "Creating this collection has been a very exciting process, I’ve enjoyed it thoroughly. But it’s also been much bigger of a challenge than I imagined. For example, although manufacturers are hard at work I was surprised by how limited the choice of biodegradable accessories such as buttons or zippers currently is. This collection is sort of a research project to see what it means to create completely synthetic free products. It’s also vegan, free of animal origin materials such as wool or silk.”

The collection includes elements from the street fashion of the 90s, rave culture, as well as unisex products, which are further developments from the men's workwear capsule.

“This collection was sort of a trip down the memory lane of my childhood - the mood from London of the 90’s where I grew up as a kid, as well as the heyday of club music and raves. But also summers spent at the countryside watching the Little House on the Prairie, and handicraft crochet elements to contrast the streetstyle vibe. I guess enough time has now passed by to filter these things through me!” says Lilli of the collection which won her the people's choice award at the Golden Needle Awards in 2021.
